Effectiveness of Kangaroo Mother Care in Low Birth Weight Neonates: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Abstract

A randomized controlled trial evaluating KMC versus conventional care among 200 low birth weight neonates in Kathmandu. KMC group showed significantly better weight gain (p<0.001), shorter hospital stay (mean 8 vs 14 days, p<0.01), and lower infection rates (12% vs 28%, p<0.05).
